Health Insurance Sustainability: Meeting the Challenge of Rising Costs

This was one of the central themes of the most recent edition of the Portuguese Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SPOT) Congress. The event took place between November 6 and 9, 2024, at the prestigious Algarve Congress Center in Vilamoura, and brought together leading national and international specialists in Orthopaedics and Traumatology.

The Congress, carefully structured by SPOT with the support of its various societies, sections, study groups and commissions, featured a wide-ranging program with the participation of renowned international societies such as the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons), SOFCOT (Société Française de Chirurgie Orthopédique et Traumatologique) and ESSKA-ESA (European Shoulder Associates Section). Among the highlights of the program was the demonstration with the MAKO robot, as well as the presence of symposia and workshops led by the industry, which provided a practical and innovative perspective on the new technologies and products on the market. Invited lectures and clinical cases further enriched the event, providing a level of excellence and inspiration to participants.
