The European Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA) Conference was held for the first time in a Southern European country. Although it is a typically scientific conference, there was a huge effort from the Organization to bring the business world and leaders of large companies, in order to create synergies and promote solutions to those who can implement them in the real world and make a difference.

The conference figures unequivocally show the success of this effort, having been to date the edition with the most papers submitted (882), participants (1286) and exhibitors (25).

A challenge was also issued to future generations to participate, contribute and leave a message of hope and immediate action.
