Probably one of the most complex and challenging congresses held by Leading. 3400 abstracts submitted, more than 2400 papers presented during 5 days in 70 rooms simultaneously.

Between September 2 and 5, 2009, Lisbon hosted the ^9th Conference of the European Sociological Association, registering 2600 participants. To date, this was the largest event of the European Sociological Association, also registering record numbers in abstracts submitted online (3200) and in papers to be presented at the conference (2436 oral and poster presentations).
