The global meeting that defines the future of Geotechnical Engineering chose Lisbon for its 2024 edition

From August 26 to 30, 2024, MEO Arena became the epicenter of ECSMGE 2024 (European Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering), a prestigious event that brought world-renowned companies and experts in the field of Geotechnics to Lisbon. The local organization, run by the Portuguese Geotechnical Society (SPG), provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas and innovation in the sector.

Under the central theme "Challenges of Geotechnical Engineering to Meet Current and Emerging Society Needs", the Conference attracted more than 1,200 participants and promoted discussions on best practices, as well as on the future challenges of Geotechnical Engineering and key issues for the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
