At the beginning of September 2024, the city of Porto established itself as the world capital of knowledge about rare metabolic diseases

The historic city of Undefeated hosted SSIEM 2024, an event of excellence that stood out as one of the largest scientific meetings held in Portugal that year.

Organized by the renowned Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (SSIEM), the Congress brought together a wide and diverse group of participants, including internationally renowned experts, pioneering researchers, experienced clinicians and other professionals dedicated to the field.

SSIEM 2024 was much more than a platform for sharing knowledge. It has become a privileged space for establishing collaborations, inspiring new approaches and strengthening the global commitment to research and innovation in the field of rare diseases.
